ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
The candidates should have passed 10+2 examination
or its equivalent in any academic stream with English as a compulsory
subject. Candidates may apply provisionally, subject to the condition
that they should produce the passing certificate of the qualifying
examination, at the time of admission. Admissions stand cancelled
if proof of having passed the qualifying examination 10+2 or its
equivalent is not submitted by the specific date to the Institute.
English is the medium of instruction for the 4 year BHM programme.
Admission to the BHM course shall be provisional. Admission will
be finalized after confirmation of eligibility by the Bangalore
University.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO BHM COURSE
General:
The applicants should be a citizen of India and
must fall in one of the following categories:-
(a) Child of
a serving regular Army person.
(b) War widow in receipt of liberalized pension.
(c) Child of a retired Army person who is in receipt
of regular pension.
(d) Child of an Army person who died during service/after
retirement and the family pension is granted.
(e) Child in receipt of family pension due to death
of both parents, one of whom was regular/retired Army person and
family pension is granted. (Certificate–1 and 2 should be
attached).
(f) Wards of all ex-servicemen including ex-short
service officers who have taken retirement after 10 years of completed
service. (Certificate-8 should be attached).
(g) Children of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers
presently serving with IN/IAF only children of those medical officers
who have put in 10 years of service in Army and member of AOBF will
be considered eligible. (Certificate 3 should be attached).
(h) Children of APS Personnel:-
(i) Children of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen
as per the clarification given in the Govt of India, Min. of Def.
letter No.9(5/2)82/D (Res) dated 19 July 1989.
(ii) Children of APS personnel who are on
deputation and have put in at least 10 years of service in the Army.
(iii) Children of APS personnel who are directly
recruited into APS and as per their terms and conditions of service,
retired from the corps after completing their minimum pensionable
service.
(j) Children of MNS/TA personnel
(i) Children of only those MNS officers who have
served for minimum 10 years as regular Army MNS officers or are
in receipt of pension from the Army.
(ii) Children of only those TA personnel who have
completed 10 years of embodied service. (Certificate 4 should be
attached).
(k) Adopted/Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows.
(i) Adopted child of Army personnel, at least five
years prior to seeking admission. (Certificate 5 should be attached)
(ii) Children of Widows of Army Personnel who are
born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel are eligible.
However, children of widows of Army personnel born out of remarriage
with Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission. (Certificate
6 should be attached).
(iii) Step Children are eligible provided they
are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to
the Army.(Certificate 7 should be attached).

AGE
The candidate should not be more than 22 years of
age as on 01 July of the year of admission. The date of birth recorded
in the matriculation or equivalent examination certificate will
be considered authentic proof.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
The candidates should have good general health with
satisfactory limits of chest expansion and contraction, normal vision
and hearing. In case of defective vision, it must be corrected to
6/9 in both eyes or 6/6 in the better eye. Defective hearing should
also be corrected. There should be no abnormality in heart and lungs
and no history of mental disease or epileptic fits. The candidates
must get themselves examined by the nearest military hospital/registered
medical practitioner and attach certificate of physical fitness
along with the application form.
